Ms. Catherine and Kirra came to see us!

We were so lucky to have visitors last weekend! My best friend from high school and her daughter had a free airline ticket and decided to come see us in Missouri! We had TONS of fun and hope that they did too. Her daughter, Kirra, is about six weeks younger than Zachary and was so much fun to have here. The kids got along VERY well and were so awesome while we drug them around from place to place. One day they didn't even get a nap and we still didn't have any meltdowns...pretty amazing! We went shopping, to the pumpkin patch, out to eat a couple of times, to the park, and we played A LOT! I think it took both kids about a week to "recover" from all the excitement, but it was worth it! Thanks for coming to Missouri to see us Cat! Here are some pictures from their trip...

Zachary's first kiss!

So, I didn't get the actual "first kiss" on video, but I did get the second one and it was less than a minute later. The first kiss Kirra walked around smacking her lips at him...we were cracked up! As soon as she kissed him, he smiled really big and then ran away. Then he was saying "one more time". They were so cute together!

We went to the zoo!

We went to the zoo last week and once again we picked what felt like one of the hottest day of September to do an outdoor activity. So, needless to say, we didn't stay as long as we would have liked and didn't walk as far as we would have had it been a little cooler. The Kansas City Zoo was surprisingly nice, but very spread out. Zachary's favorite part was obviously the monkeys and it was actually one of our favorite parts too! We probably won't make it back to the zoo again until spring time, but until that time we will all be looking forward to another trip! Here are a few pictures from our trip...enjoy!

Whiny, whiny, whiny!

Well, Zachary has been running a fever off and on for a couple of days now. He has no other symptoms except for EXTREME whininess, fussiness, and he has been super, super clingy. Two nights ago he also didn't sleep very well and woke Mommy up about 20 times throughout the night (I think he wanted to give me some practice for December). The only other thing that has been noticeable is that he is super slobbery, so I am chalking this all up to teething...AGAIN! I feel like every time there is something wrong with him I blame it on his teeth. Hopefully he'll let me take a good look in the next couple of days so that I can see way back in the back and decide if that truly is what is wrong with him. If it is teeth, that means he is getting his 2 year molars pretty early! If it isn't teeth, then it must be something wrong with his ear/ears and I am probably a bad mother for not taking him to the doctor.

Zachary, despite his whininess, is still USUALLY a joy to be around and his vocabulary continues to expand at an exponential rate. He enjoys telling us everything he sees and that he is doing. One of his favorite things to say is "yay, did it!" He also loves to say "happy, happy birthday!"...thank you Dora the Explorer. He knows all his colors and shapes and still really enjoys counting. He is definitely getting more interested in letters, so we are going to be working on those in the next couple of months. He is still a SUPER big daddy's boy, but seems to be having extreme separation anxiety from both of us. It is a hard stage, but I have high hopes that he will outgrow it in the next couple of months. Okay, so what else? He is OBSESSED with school buses, trucks, airplanes, and helicopters right now. He can seriously spot things in the sky before Scott and I see them...it is very impressive. He is not eating as well as he was (teething?) but continues to have a decent appetite and still always wants a drink. I know there is more, but I will have to do another post later. Here are some pics from the past few weeks...

I fixed the music...

yay me!!!!

Zachary does his own stunts!

Here are a few cute videos that I have taken in the past week or so. Scott and I worry a little about the "hop" video, but we have since encouraged hopping on all fours...more like a frog. We have no clue where he learned to "hop" like that, but we just hope he doesn't hurt himself doing it. So far he has been smart enough not to do it on the wood floors. :) Hope you like the videos!
